Upcoming Development in Port Orange

According to http://www.port-orange.org/, the Port Orange community is “characterized by a stable and successful business climate that nurtures and embraces quality businesses.”

Although Port Orange is one of the smaller cities tucked away in Volusia County, it supports some big initiatives.
To provide growth and opportunity for upcoming businesses, the city of Port Orange wants to develop a mixed-use retail, office, restaurant and entertainment area. The project is focused on creating an intracoastal waterfront development (called Riverwalk) that will occupy about 35 acres of land along a ½ mile stretch of intracoastal shoreline.

Rue & Ziffra, P.A.’s Main Office Location

For over 25 years, the law office of Rue & Ziffra, P.A. has maintained its main office in Port Orange, Florida and has become a member of the Port Orange Chamber of Commerce. After experiencing growth in terms of staff and clientele, management felt the need to expand the firm’s office space. As a result, In December 2010, the firm purchased a vacant office building located on the lot directly next door. Employees from four departments, including Worker’s Compensation, Medical Malpractice, Social Security Disability and our Litigation team, were moved to the new location. The addition of the new building not only provided more space for our clients (by making room for two additional conference rooms) but also more working area for our staff.

As always, we offer a free consultation for anyone who has legal questions or who has been involved in an automobile accident or other type of personal injury claim. To receive a consultation, please call 1-800-JUSTICE and ask to speak with one of our attorneys.

Rue & Ziffra, P.A. Sponsorships & Events in Port Orange

Because our main office is located in Port Orange, our firm is involved in many events and charities from around this area. Below are some of the Port Orange events and organizations Rue & Ziffra, P.A. has been proud to sponsor.

Relay for Life

Over the past few years, Rue & Ziffra, P.A. has been an active sponsor for the Port Orange Relay for Life events. Put on by the American Cancer Society, the relay is held to raise both awareness and funds for those suffering with cancer. The most recent event was held on April 8, 2011 at the City Center by the Port Orange library. Businesses from all over the city set up tents and booths to sell various food items and give out information. Participants in the relay showed their support for cancer awareness by walking around the lake, and some even continued until the next morning. Fitness classes such as Zumba were provided by local instructors for attendees to enjoy, as well as participate in special ceremonies and contests.

Bike Week – First Turn Booth

During the 2011 Bike Week events, Rue & Ziffra, P.A. participated as an active vender. Among various locations around Daytona Beach, the motorcycle accident attorneys set up a booth at First Turn Sports Lounge, located in Port Orange.

Visitors to the booth could receive free handouts such as backpacks and drink coozies, as well as sign up for a chance to win a free Bike Week 2012 stay at an oceanfront resort in Daytona Beach. Our 2011 winner, Daytona resident Karen Serensky, won a 7 day, 6 night stay at the Plaza Ocean Club as well as a $500 gift card to Miller’s Custom Parts.

Setting up a tent during Bike Week gave the local law firm’s attorneys a chance to meet the people in their community as well as promote motorcycle rider safety.

Green Market

Each Saturday morning from March 19, 2011 to June 4, 2011, Rue & Ziffra, P.A. was an active sponsor at the Green Market, located in the Port Orange Pavilion. Here, the firm handed out free “green” shopping bags and gave visitors a chance to win a 7 day Caribbean cruise.

The Green Market was a mini gourmet farmers market open to the public. Among some of the products offered included an array of vegetables, crafts and plants. There was also a small food area with breakfast items for purchase, such as organic omelettes, waffles and even mimosas.

Police Athletic League of Port Orange Sponsor

Rue & Ziffra, P.A. is proud to sponsor the Police Athletic League of Port Orange. Through our donations, we will have provided support for the 2010 and 2011 youth sports baseball seasons. Each donation the league receives helps keep the cost down for players and even allows some players to play through the waiver/volunteer program.

Volusia County Partner of the Year

Rue & Ziffra, P.A. was named the Volusia Partner of the Year at Horizon Elementary for the 2010-2011 school year! According to the honorary certificate they received, the local Daytona law firm is being recognized “for their exemplary collaborative effort among the community and Volusia County Schools to enhance the education of our students.”

Over the years, Rue & Ziffra has been an active supporter of the Port Orange elementary school, participating as a PTA Business Member and sponsor of the Science Jeopardy Program & Science Night. The firm has also supported the Annual Fall Festival and 5th grade end-of-the year celebrations.

Port Orange Family Days

During the last weekend in September 2011, the city of Port Orange holds their annual Family Days festival in the City Center complex. Rue & Ziffra, P.A. has been happy to sponsor and set up a booth at Family Days each year, in order to get involved with the community.

The festival usually has carnival rides, food and entertainment that is fun for all ages. It typically lasts for four or five nights and is open to the public.

Annual Christmas Parade

For the past few years, our firm has sponsored the annual Port Orange Christmas Parade. We have participated in many ways, by building our own float one year and by providing hot dogs and beverages for those watching from outside of our office. The parade takes place on Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange, travelling from Nova Road to Ridgewood Avenue east towards the Atlantic Ocean.

Port Orange School Sponsorships

Because Port Orange is home to many schools, our firm is often called upon to donate gifts and supplies to the community’s students. A few school groups we have helped to sponsor and support include:

  • Spruce Creek High School Tennis Program

Because of the county’s mandated pay-to-play fees, many students at Spruce Creek may not be able to afford to participate in the tennis program. However, with the help of donations the season’s expenses (including transportation costs, food and supplies) can be paid for entirely by sponsors. In 2010, the Spruce Creek boys tennis team finished 7th while the girls team finished 8th out of a total of 128 4A schools in Florida.

  • Spruce Creek High School IB Banquet

At the end of each school year, the Spruce Creek High School IB parent organization creates a program for the IB Senior Banquet. The program includes handing out scholarships to those outstanding seniors who are being awarded. To help support this initiative, sponsors purchase business ads to be placed in the program. All funds generated from ad sales go toward supporting the scholarships.

  • Atlantic High School Sponsors

Rue & Ziffra, P.A. is proud to help sponsor the students and faculty at Atlantic High School for the 2011 – 2012 school year.
